Description: The regional localisation from Nekketsu Koha Kunio-kun (Japan) to Renegade (West) overhauled the game’s identity, converting a Japanese high school delinquent narrative into a gritty 1980s American urban brawling experience inspired by The Warriors. To achieve this, Technos Japan reskinned the original protagonist, Kunio, a white gakuran-wearing student fighting rival school gangs to avenge his friend, into Mr. K, a leather-vested vigilante fighting street gangs and a mafia syndicate to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend. These visual shifts transformed Japanese train stations, school yards, and Sukeban female gang leaders into NYC-style subway stations, harbor docks, and leather-clad street thugs, accompanied by Westernised audio adjustments like replacing Japanese voice clips ("Ganbatte ne") with English lines ("Good luck, kid" and "Get lost, punk!"), updating the HUD to generic indicators, and swapping the high school gate title screen for graffiti-covered brickwork.
