This game uses the Appmon Chip Toy QR codes - This was a line of toys released exclusively in Japan by Bandai, each chip has it's own QR code that can be scanned with the 3DS.

The demo was intended to be a free-to-play prologue/companion to the main game. It allowed players to carry certain save data to the base game when it was released.
